The top 5 best military trucks in SnowRunner

Here are five of the best military trucks SnowRunner has to offer, for those who like camouflage, bulletproof windows and terrible fuel economy.

When it comes to off-roaders, the best military trucks are some of the most badass. Not just because they look terrifying and can survive things like driving over a landmine or gunfire, but also because they are immensely powerful and hard to break.

Not that random parts fall off a truck in SnowRunner, admittedly, or that you have to worry about hidden explosives as you deliver dead trees. But some terrain can get incredibly challenging and so a bit of military muscle can even the playing field.

So here is my round-up of 5 military themed mods I like to give a blast, pun intended, some of which are on console. Just remember that camouflage paintjobs are optional. But obviously encouraged.

And that there are many awesome mods that did not make the list – feel free to suggest examples in the comments. Subscribe and like!

Please note: This is the script from my YouTube video, click play above to watch or go here.

1) RNG M27

Up first is the RNG M27 from the Rang3r Group with a three. It is described as a military extended cargo truck and, as is normally the case with this maker, comes packed with detail. Inside and out.

No wonder, then, this angular trucking beast and its many, many utility and customisation options has a rating of 96 per cent on the Mod Browser and is closing in on 9,000 likes. If that does not make you stand to attention, I do not know what will.

2) Hummer H1

Up next is the Hummer H1 (which I fail to show enough of in the video, my bad). Its maker, Iceberg, calls it the ‘ultimate scout’, which is a big claim. Especially as SnowRunner has about 7,000 of them. Military truck fans may know this mod is based on the M998 Humvee.

To be honest, I am more interested in the fact the Hummer H1 can go just about anywhere, thanks to its 6.6-litre V8, and that it has enough customisation options to make it perfect for just about any excursion. Kudos for all the working dashboard dials.

3) RNG TX Armoured Truck Pack

Now, veterans of the Tribe will know this mod well. But in case not I present the RNG TX Armoured Truck Pack and the separate and very useful RNG TX Bridge Layer. Combine these two and you can use military might to bridge gaps and create shortcuts throughout the game.

Yes, shortcuts galore or you can simply make passing certain areas easier. Such as those miserable thin ice areas in Lake Kovd, Imandra and Amur. The truck itself can do many other things and there are three versions to test out – the largest of which is bridge trailer-friendly.

Slap on some aerials and away you go.

4) Z2 Dragonwagon M25Z

And next we have the Z2 Dragonwagon M25Z, which is as cool as it sounds. Dragonwagon. The addons are limited as this military machine is designed for towing heavy things, but the unique crane and variable bed bolster the selection nicely.

As with many good mods, you can enjoy vanilla power outputs and tyres. Or you can slap on the best of the best, sir, for when you want to conquer Amur with relatively few casualties. To be fair, the snorkel could be just a teensy-weensy bit more realistic.

5) GWC Goliath

Anyway, last in my SnowRunner best military truck list is the GWC Goliath, which I call E.T. Or FatHead. Whatever you prefer. It comes with up to 10 gears, beastly engines that will instill fear into any of its enemies and various tyres – all of which show you the rating in each terrain type. Quite handy.

As for addons, Colonel Goliath has all the usual suspects for tackling military jaunts as you see fit. Plus a cool-looking and powerful heavy crane, and 3,000-litre fuel tank with repair points and spare wheels built in.

Slap on some camouflage and your enemy, I mean cargo, will never know what hit it. Especially as this is probably one of the most powerful mods in this round-up platoon.

Now before I go, a shoutout to some other trucks that nearly made my list such as the RNG MPV, RNG HMV A2, 1942 Willys MB and the MAZ 7310. These are all excellent and well worth a go for any budding warlord.

And here ends this SnowRunner YouTube skirmish. Let me know your suggestions and be sure to like, subscribe and touch that bell. Until next time. Take care, bye.
