The Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure release date and other update details have been announced. Here the who, what, when and where.
A Tribe Called Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure? Why, yes, that is the subject of today’s video. The latest expansion has been announced and I endured watched the entire Twitch stream to bring you the details.
Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure kind of gives the game away just a tad. You get to go on a rally adventure, as you could in the first Forza Horizon, within a whole new map while driving any of the ten new cars and competing in the 27 new races.
The new area, north of the base game, is called Sierra Nueva and features a fully destructible forest and – like in SnowRunner – a quarry. Here you will get to race in two modes, Horizon Race and Horizon Rally.
Playground Games has split Rally Adventure into three teams. There is the asphalt-based Horizon Raptors, headed up by Alex. Meanwhile, Alejandra runs the Apex Predators on mixed surfaces and Rami is boss of the Grit Reapers, where nighttime and bad weather make life tougher.
Borrowing inspiration from the London New Year’s Eve fireworks display, the new Sierra Nueva Horizon Festival has a drone display. There is, however, no large city, which seems to have upset the ‘we want Japan’ contingent, but the town you do get is based on a real life location.
More interesting is the addition of actual launch control. Use it for perfect starts from standing by holding the handbrake – the game will look at various parameters including the surface type you are on and balance the revs and traction control system accordingly.
Also interesting is the anti-lag turbo, which can be fitted to any car that can have a turbo. Whether as standard or as an option. In short, exhaust pops and better power deliver ahoy and for all players, not just expansion owners.
Cosmetic stuff is also available to all players and so far includes rally bars and rally lights though it is not clear how many cars will accommodate them.
While racing, players will be able to benefit from a new pace note system as part of the user-interface, co-driver voice notes and a rally-specific racing line in blue. There is also a chase helicopter, which adds to the drama and helps illuminate your way at night.
As for the terrain, expect a more gruelling and undulated experience. However, the overall appearance is in keeping with its Mexican location. In other words, rather familiar.
Then there are new cars, which are the Ford F-150 Lightning, Ford Focus WRC driven by Colin McRae, Hoonigan Scumbug Baja-beast, Aluminium Trick Truck, RJ Anderson Polaris RZR Pro 4 Truck, Polaris RZR Pro XP Factory Unlimited Edition, Jimco Hammerhead Class 1, Jimco Fastball Racing Spec Trophy Truck, Cassey Currie Motorsports Ultra 4 Trophy Jeep and Alumicraft Class 1 Buggy.
New songs have been added too and will be given to all players, not just those who buy the expansion either separately or as part of the expansion bundle. Yes, Bad Religion, the Offspring, Alkaline Trio, Architects and more from Epitaph Radio.
So when is the Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure release date? March the 29th 2023. Plenty of time then to wrap up any Hot Wheels and Donut Media expansion races. Be sure to like and subscribe and let me know what you think of the update in the comments.
