I went to drive the 2019 Range Rover Evoque in Athens, Greece, while battling the most severe case of man flu known to humanity. Here’s some of the stuff I learned about the baby Range, including a look at some of its most interesting new technologies.
Before you make a joke about the Range Rover Evoque being a ‘girl’s car’ or for ‘the wife’, allow me to try and educate you a little. The truth is that I had very low expectations of the 2019 Evoque, partly because the old car was nothing special. But I flew back from mainland Greece pleasantly surprised, having attended the European test drive event.
Nearly 800,000 Evoques sold over its seven-year lifecycle, which would suggest that most people ignored what myself and other motoring journalists had to say about the old model. My concern is that, now most of us like it, will it prove as successful? Or have we just sentenced it to a slow death?
Who knows, but then it’s not my job to make sales predictions so you’ll know how many to expect to see on the road (unless someone wants to pay me to do so, obviously). I’m here to tell you what the 2019 Range Rover Evoque is all about, how much it costs and how it drives.
Currently, I’m working on a full-fat 2019 Evoque video review (as well as one for the 2019 Jeep Wrangler). In the meantime, feast your peep-holes on the written one here. And give my ‘need to know’ video above a good watch, maybe even chuck a like my way and subscribe to the channel. I’d be very grateful if you did.
