You would be forgiven for thinking that, of the two new Season 12: Public Energy trucks, the mighty FEMM 37-AT would be toughest to unlock. However, as my MTB 8106 unlock guide shows, you would be wrong.
Where the FEMM 37-AT is basically a long drive and a bit of winching, the MTB 8106 (Rock Grinder) involves two contracts and an even longer drive. Fortunately, one contract lowers the drawbridge, which is useful later on.
Anyway, the two necessary contracts are Jumbo Bridge and Vice-Like Grip. You will need the Year 3 Pass or to purchase Season 12: Public Energy to access both trucks.
1) Jumbo Bridge, Pineline Bay Regional Administration (4 x fuel and 1 x generator)
2) Vice-Like Grip, Geodetic Guidance (1 x metal beams, 1 x MTB 8106, 1 x Prototype Exploration Unit)

To unlock this kind of okay-ish, moderately useful yet familiar SnowRunner scout we need to take four lots of fuel and a particular generator trailer to the drawbridge.
I would recommend the FEMM 37-AT because it can carry four slots of cargo and pull a trailer. Though you can split the task into two trips.
If you do both at once, prepare for a longer journey and higher fuel useage. If you do not, then consider finishing the contract in a truck that can have a two-slot cargo bed, two-slot trailer and a crane in preparation for the Vice-Like Grip contract.
You can either drive to the Reactive Zone or jump to it if you unlocked the garage there. From said garage it is a short drive south-west. From Pineline Bay, it is a drive east (left off the tarmac road) then over some rivers and through forest before reaching a town.
Head south out of town then go into the garage along this road if you have not already. If you have (and do not need fuel or a change of truck), head to the Gas Station for those four fuel barrels. Then head back to the Pineline Bay tunnel.
Once in Pineline Bay, head back to the garage. You can get a truck out to refuel and repair if necessary or drive into the garage to do the same thing. Then head west then south as you go past the Concrete Plant Warehouse.
Eventually you will get to a task called Rubble Trouble 1, which requires one metal beam cargo to remove. Trucks with big enough wheels can make it across with some tactical winching.
If you cannot make it, use the dirt road opposite the Concrete Plant Warehouse to bypass or, even easier, make a 90-degree right down a small trail next to the yellow box.
Continue along this road until you see a red trailer. Attach it as you will need it later. Eventually you will make it to the drawbridge, where you can drop the fuel and now focus on the generator located far south of the Reactive Zone gateway.
If you did not deliver the fuel and generator together, you can use something more nimble for the generator retrieval. It lives at the electric power plant in the south-east. The roads to get there are similar to what you have already driven.
I used the Mack Defense M917 as it ticks the two-slot cargo bed, trailer and crane boxes, but many other can do the same. I would, however, say that having roof supplies for extra fuel might save the day.
Now we get the rather tedious drive all the way back north then west then south to the drawbridge where we dropped the four fuel. Deliver the generator and that is one contract down.
Now that the drawbridge is crossable, we can begin Vice-Like Grip. First, we need to collect one metal beams from the Metal Warehouse/Metal Works west of where you delivered the generator trailer.
If, unlike me, you had already equipped a two-slot or bigger cargo bed and brought that red trailer from earlier, you can get the metal beams as they are nearby. Top-up at the nearby fuel station if necessary.
Using the non-generator-based loading bay, grab one metal beams or two if you want to clear Rubble Trouble 1. Now drive back the way you came, grabbing that red trailer if you did not already, then take a left just after the ‘Running on Empty’ truck broken down on the road.
Following this trail, take a left at the fork then deliver the metal beams to clear the pathway to the MTB 8106 (Rock Grinder) and Prototype Exploration Unit.
Load both of these onto your cargo bed and/or trailer, then continue east until you get to a crossroads. Drop the Prototype Exploreation Unit here to deliver later, unless you want a greater challenge.
Head south until you reach tarmac then go west towards the town where the Office Parking Lot is located. Deliver the MTB 8106 by driving through the yellow box then either keep it onboard or jettison to save weight for the return journey.
Almost done, I promise. Either drive back the way you came to where you left the Protype Exploration Unit or recover your truck to the garage, which is closer. Then load it onto your cargo bed or trailer before driving back towards the Drawbridge. East of there is the Workshop delivery area.
Drive into the yellow box and, finally, the MTB 8106 (Rock Grinder) is yours. What a palaver, kerfuffle, shindig etc that was.
The first MTB 8106 upgrade is the top-rated GForce-4V 11.0T. It is located in the Flatland map of North Carolina, south of the dam on a small island.
Next is the raised suspension upgrade, which is necessary for bigger tyres though the difference is 36 inches versus 35. It lives in the Reactive Zone in North Carolina, south of the Pineline Bay tunnel around the middle of the map.
The other shock-based upgrade is rock crawler. It lives in Pineline Bay of North Carolina on the big island south-west of the garage. A bridge repair is necessary to reach it, then head to the south-east side.
Last but arguably most useful is the engageable diff lock upgrade. Located in the Oviro Hills in North Carolina, it can be found in the middle of the map directly south of the Pineline Bay entrance.
