How to unlock the Cargo Drone in Expeditions: A MudRunner Game

Here is how to unlock the Cargo Drone in Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, plus how to use it and why it is one of the best upgrades.

For those wanting to make life easier in Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, you should get the Cargo Drone base module ASAP. I am not joking when I say it is a game-changer.

Without droning on, eurgh, it is an upgrade that lets you deliver essentials from your base to any truck. Within the same map where the base module lives, that is, not between maps – now that would be overpowered.

Please note: This is the script from my YouTube video, click play above to watch or click here.

How do you use the Cargo Drone?

First, it needs to be built. That means parting with 50,000 Expeditions credits. Find a blue square base building location then build the Cargo Drone. If all building slots are occupied, sell a building first.

Ensure you build the Cargo Drone base module on a map where you will use it the most as you only get 45,000 credits back when it is sold.

Now you can drive around completing stuff and things until you get low on fuel or run out. At this point, anxiety and crying would occur.

Not anymore! You can open the map, tab to ‘objects’ then click ‘modules’, click on Cargo Drone then press the relevant on-screen button to use it. Now it will fly to you (without an animation, sadly), allowing you to access your base item inventory remotely.

Yes, you can deliver items such as fuel, spare parts, spare wheels, anchors, jack-screws and anything else you have. Well, maybe not suncream for that unrelenting Arizona sunshine. As standard, it has 300 litres of fuel.

You can even send items back to base or, for example, swap a semi-used anchor for a fresh one. Though to do so you have to unlock the operator Lance Silva who has the ‘can trade’ ability. I just hope Akane Ishida is not the jealous type.

How to unlock the Cargo Drone in Expeditions?

So how do you unlock the mighty cargo drone? Well, there are two ways. You can progress in Arizona or the Carpathians – up to you. You get the same cargo drone and it can be used across all regions.

For Arizona, you need to complete An Unexpected Find. To unlock this mission means completing, in this order, Conquest of the Frontier, Squatters Rights, Fallen from Heaven, In Order to Preserve and Breaking Brad – minus the great Bryan Cranston in needlessly revealing underpants.

For the Carpathians, you need to complete the mission called Where the Flow Goes. This requires completing the Prologue, Stonefaced, Ancient Fire, Water is Life and The Balance of Nature in that order.

I stuck with Arizona, but sometimes I feel the Carpathians is a bit more forgiving. Either way, you have a fair few missions to complete before that possibly overpowered delivery machine is yours. On that note, subscribe and like to help the Tribe.
