It’s not often you get to drive a supercar, let alone one as potent as the McLaren 600LT and at the F1 circuit that is the Hungaroring in Hungary. Suffice to say, the day was mental and, as it turns out, so was the car. In a good way.
The 570S was my favourite McLaren and the 600LT is essentially one that has gone on a diet, been given more power and some actual downforce. 100kg of the tarmac-pressing stuff, in fact, although I’ll let the above fill you in on the nitty-gritty.
Hopefully my video review does the £185,500, 592bhp and 204mph track weapon some justice. Unlike during my drive of the Senna, I was able to go out with an open-face helmet so I could try to capture an in-car commentary.
Try being the operative word, because making a car that fast behave requires quite a lot of concentration. Because nobody, myself especially, wants to crash a car this expensive.
I hope you enjoy and be sure to subscribe, I’d appreciate it! You can also follow A Tribe Called Cars on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
