SnowRunner Phase 7 tips and tricks guide

Top 5 SnowRunner Phase 7 tips & tricks

SnowRunner Phase 7 tips: This update is not especially difficult, but a few tips can go a long way in making the experience more enjoyable.

Now that the latest SnowRunner update is here, I can start giving you more content. Today that means five hopefully useful tips and tricks.

Given that there is only one map and not that many missions, there is something to be said for not rushing or picking the most overpowered vanilla trucks or mods. Use stuff you may not normally use and enjoy the ride to eke out that value for money.

Because despite the single map and racing side of things, which some players have shunned, Phase 7 is a nicely designed area to cruise around in and therefore worth consideration.

1) Avoid the nosiest truck

My first tip may be obvious, but Tennessee really is a place where trucks with a long snout can make annoyingly slow progress. Those little streams and general rapid incline changes give my lovely Azov 73210, for example, quite a lot of hassle – even with the raised suspension option.

Without too much ridiculously deep mud and snow to worry about, it is actually nice that Tennessee gives you more creative freedom with your truck choice. Trucks with the crane, bed and trailer combo do especially well.

But I also had a TwinSteer on standby near the generator while another truck worried about keeping it fueled. With careful driving and a few crane support truck moments I made short work of the delivery stuff.

2) Get that generator

Yes, the generator is essential for completing all three stages in SnowRunner Phase 7 Tennessee. I made a guide that goes into more detail about it, but basically an early task called Supply Depot involves dragging a generator trailer to the north and then four lots of fuel.

Do so because it gives you access to not just a crafting zone, but also the trailer store which is useful for a sneaky trick I will get to in a second.

In Phase 7, if an item needs to come from the Supply Depot, with exception of the solar panels that show up in the river, you will have to make it with the help of the generator.

So make sure it has fuel, put it in the correct yellow box and then switch it on. Drive round to the Supply Depot and load up on the cargo you need then drive it wherever it needs to go. Voila.

If not playing hard mode, you can be a bit cheeky and use the nearby trailer store to get a fuel trailer to top-up the generator then sell it back for the same money. Rinse and repeat, you big cheat.

3) Scout those watchtowers

And next in my Phase 7 tips and tricks guide is go scout the watchtowers. Phase 7 Tennessee is not as water-focused as some previous maps, particularly Yukon, but a combination of some very deep bodies of H20 and broken bridges can make initial navigation difficult.

To be fair, one of the main bridges only needs one metal beam from the Supple Depot. Wow, interesting typo. Supple Depot. Anyway, However, unveiling those watchtowers really does help you find the best paths.

4) Use speed and power

Point four is all about speed and power. Not that you necessarily need to win each timed event for it to count towards progress in stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3. But speed and power does make said events more fun.

And if playing online against other people, well maybe you want to win. In which case, I would suggest trucks with big wheels and/or AWD and Diff Lock always on. That and the high gear gearbox can give you a much better chance of leaving your opponents for dust. Off-road tyres are good too.

I may do a proper video about the best trucks for racing if enough of you would enjoy it, but hopefully that should give you a good headstart.

5) You can do solo racing

And finally, my final Phase 7 Tennessee tip regards those aforementioned racing tasks. If playing co-op you can drive up to them and press X or equivalent to initiate a race. If not in co-op, you may get an error complaining about your lack of internet friends right now.

So open the menu once you have discovered the contract and then initiate it by pressing right and/or drive through the nearby blue circle. You should now see a timer in the top right – that means you are good to follow the route.

And that is it for this Phase 7 tips and tricks video. It is not a complicated map but can punish you if you get complacent so take it steady while we cruise towards Phase 8.
