The SnowRunner Year 4 Pass has been CONFIRMED

No more speculation, the SnowRunner Year 4 Pass has been officially confirmed. Here is what you need to know – plus what could be some Xbox issue expectation management.

Good news, off-road truckers. The SnowRunner Year 4 Pass has been officially announced, meaning another four seasons of running out of fuel miles away from home.

The news comes as part of the January 2024 community update on the Focus Entertainment forums. Alongside an updated ‘Live Ops Content Roadmap’, Focus Entertainment had the following to say:

“We are glad to exclusively present to you the brand-new roadmap for the Year 4 Pass! We have many new exciting things in store and we can’t wait to share them with you!”

Yes, no more sneaky hints and unofficial confirmation. The cat is not just out of the bag, it is stitching on opposable thumbs so it can take over the world and enslave all of humanity for the production of catnip. Where was I?

Season 13: Dig & Drill

As we can see on the SnowRunner Year 4 Pass roadmap, Season 12: Public Enemy, sorry Energy, will be succeeded by Season 13: Dig & Drill. Will we actually get to dig and drill? Does this mean we shall be a tiny cog in a giant global oil company scouting for liquid gold or other resources? Who knows.

Season 14: Reap & Sow

Season 14: Reap & Sow, meanwhile, sounds very much like farming will be making a comeback, having featured (for better and for worse) in Season 8: Grand Harvest. I still cannot look at a potato without weeping.

If Season 14 is indeed another stab at farming then that would mean new tractors. John Deere would be the dream. This is because the expansion would be impossible to complete for someone who never bought Season 8 unless you can somehow weld a crop planter to the Tayga King.

Season 15: Oil & Dirt

Without a timeline, it is difficult to say when to expect any of the new seasons, including our next topic of conversation – Season 15: Oil & Dirt. This could suggest a similar theme to Season 13, but it could be more to do with motoring appreciation or perhaps stunts? Let me know your thoughts.

Season 16: Expansion 4

As is tradition, the roadmap does not reveal a name for the last of the Year 4 Pass. Simply known as Season 16: Expansion 4, this could be an expansion about launching hot air balloons, rescuing feral cats with opposable thumbs, delivering munitions for World War III or becoming a stunt driver.

Your guess is as good as mine, actually probably better. All I am hoping for is that we get at least one brutally challenging map pack that makes anger management classes essential. Famous last words but I miss those annoyingly placed tree stumps and unfathomably deep snow. Those were the days.

Season 12: Public Energy has a release date of the 31st of January 2024, meaning it is either one day away or already here. Based in North Carolina, you can expect to help get a nuclear power station running. The real powerhouse though is that super mega epic ultra FEMM 37-AT it comes with.

‘State of the game’

Now, having been told to expect a fix for the Xbox crashing issues as part of Season 12, it seems the aforementioned community update is potentially managing expectations.

Titled ‘state of the game’, Focus Entertainment said: “We are aware of all the issues that you have been encountering on Xbox, and we sincerely apologize for that. We understand the frustration that you have been experiencing because of these issues.

“We want to assure you that our development team is actively working on resolving these issues.
However, it’s important to note that this remains a lengthy process.

“We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding over the past months.” The post concluded: “We sincerely strive to deliver a more enjoyable gaming experience on all platforms for all Runners.”

It is the expression ‘lengthy process’ that worries me a little. Having been told the Xbox instability cause has been found, it was seeming like Season 12 was going to solve the problem. Is that going to be the case or is Focus Entertainment talking more generally about other stuff such as co-op?

The proof, as they say, will be in the pudding. Unless Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive want to see the milk of the community turn sour.

On that milk-based finale, here I shall end this video. Too long, didn’t watch: Year 4 Pass confirmed. Whadya reckon we will see this time around? Hit me up in the comments. And if you are a cat with opposable thumbs, I implore you to make our demise swift and kind. Take care, bye.
