RoadCraft roadmap rightfully revealed (really)

Ready for more road making? The RoadCraft roadmap has been revealed – here’s what to expect from now until September 2025, including a feature many of you have been missing.

Start those engines, the RoadCraft first roadmap since launch has been released. Well, I should say stop those engines because in June 2025 we shall be getting the ability to turn engines on and off. Not just on, as is currently the case.

RoadCraft roadmap: Free Update 1

As part of what Saber Interactive and Focus Home call ‘Free Update 1’, it also includes four new shiny vehicles to help you build roads, deliver cargo and get stuck. Because one of said vehicles is the little Nota Allegro van the AI likes to use sometimes.

There will also be a Mule T1 Utility Truck, which the developer says will have a winch. So less about cargo delivery, as we already have, and more about saving the day when things inevitably go sideways.

Based on the small image, it seems like there will be another variant of the Step 39331 “Pike” also in SnowRunner and, best of all if you ask me, a trailer-equipped Tuz 119 “Lynx” scout.

This same free update brings another feature with it that is especially useful for me when making video thumbnails. Yes, if you had not guessed, I am talking about a Photo Mode. So you can get snap-happy and show off your favourite trucking moments.

Not that this should really be in the list, but the final element of the first free update are bug fixes. I have actually been impressed how stable and solid RoadCraft has been since launch, but continued effort is always appreciated.

Free Update 2

Free Update 2, meanwhile, is the sequel we know less about as the RoadCraft roadmap gets a bit vague. Still, you can count on yet more bug fixes and quality of life improvements (whatever they might be). Plus ‘new vehicles variants’ – but no mention of what or exactly how many.

July 2025 is when the second update is said to arrive. Then as we head towards September and more rain if UK based, things should get most interesting. Because all players will benefit from a hard mode, which is said to add fuel back in.

A clue is the little fuel tank next to the words. Yes, fuel was taken out of the game but now so many people have complained it will likely be added in. Given that you can already replay missions, it will be interesting to see what else, if anything, forms the gameplay mechanics for hard mode.

September 2025 will also be the launch month for the Rebuild Expansion, which is included in the Rebuild Edition version of RoadCraft but will also be purchasable separately. It includes two new maps, five new vehicles and new missions – presumably in those maps but maybe elsewhere.

Mind the gap

Will we finally get a Milton Keynes DLC? I would not hold your breath. Unless you like dying in agonising pain. I would, however, welcome new areas to tame as I think RoadCraft is a bit great.

While I am here, things have gone a bit quiet with regard to the cool tracked Tanky McTankFace crossing trailer seen in the initial launch community update. I guess we will, erm, cross that bridge when we get to it. Sorry.

The RoadCraft roadmap gets a bit vague after September as it simply says, “to be revealed soon” and then an exclamation point for added emphasis. Or maybe Saber is angry and shouting at us. You decide – and also let me know what you would like to see in RoadCraft. Besides the Tayga King.
