How to unlock the SnowRunner Aramatsu Forester (Phase 6 Maine)

How to unlock the SnowRunner Aramatsu Forester in Phase 6?

Here’s a quick guide on how to unlock the SnowRunner Aramatsu Forester in Phase 6: Haul & Hustle, including the location and best routes.

So you want to unlock the Aramatsu Forester, one of three trucks added in Phase 6: Haul & Hustle? Here is a quick guide to doing just that, plus whether you should bother.

The task you need to complete is called Abandoned Titan and it involves getting to, repairing and refuelling the Aramatsu Forester. An articulated logging truck with a crane and cockpit that can rotate all the way around.

To get to the Forester, you can use the directions on screen and in the article linked in the description. Or sneak through the forest earlier, depending on the size of your truck. South of the garage is possible with careful steering.

And the size of the truck matters because you want as many repair and refuel points as possible to get that Aramatsu Forester going.

The Abandoned Titan task requires 313 fuel and 651 repair points to restore its 340 litre fuel capacity and 780 repair point maximum. So run some basic numbers before you set off – or prepare for multiple trips.

What trucks work best?

Routes for Abandoned Titan (Aramatsu Forester)

What are the best trucks for Abandoned Titan? Anything relatively stable and good in mud with a van body addon. Even better, roof supplies. I am using the Zikz 605R, but the Tayga 6436, Azov 64131, Azov 73210 or Voron AE-4380 could work.

The reason for using a van body and other truck-specific repair and refuel addons is that navigating through forest with a full-sized trailer is a recipe for pain and misery. You have been warned.

Alternatively, you could use a scout such as the Loadstar 1700, TUZ 420 Tatarin or Ford F 750. Then tow a scout fuel trailer which you may be able to squeeze through forest shortcuts (red route). Without as much pain and misery.

Because the garage in the Lowland starts out needing to be fixed, towing the Aramatsu Forester home may not be an option. But those who want a challenge are welcome to try.

If you really do not care about making SnowRunner realistic, use a mod truck such as the JBE TUZ 420 Tatarin or Project 20-67. Both are relatively small and have more than enough fuel and repair points – plus ridiculous off-road performance.

Any other tips?

Abandoned Titan can be made much easier by completing the Landslide Near Production Site task. This unlocks the faster road route north of the cabin construction site.

If you have not done this, you can use the nearby path that is less visible on the map (blue route). Getting through the trees can be tough so take your time. However I did it with the Zikz 605R – and that is hardly a small vehicle.

Once you arrive at the swamp where the Aramatsu Forester was tragically abandoned, hug the bank and use your winch on the trees if you get stuck. Avoid the deeper water as this mud is even thicker and more deadly.

Then it is time to give it all your fuel and repair points to the Forester until it is fully operational and all yours. Remember that you can supply fuel from your own truck – not just the van body and other addons. Useful if you are a bit short like I was.

Now unless you are playing realistically or maybe on hard mode, there is no shame in a quick cheeky recover to give the Aramatsu Forester a warm, loving home. Well, a cold empty garage.

Assuming you have spare fuel, use the recovery truck to drive the muddy route towards Shore Collapse and Landslide Near Production Site tasks to unlock them. The latter requires four wooden planks – so maybe dust off the Western Star 6900 TwinSteer.

Is the SnowRunner Aramatsu Forester any good?

I would say yes. The articulated design makes it interesting to drive, its addon and crane combination works nicely for logging and with the top engine it is decent enough off-road.

It is, however, pretty slow because when things get tough you will need to go into the low gear to engage the Diff Lock for considerably better traction. I would also think twice about going into forests. Unless you enjoy that aforementioned pain and misery. Ya sadist!

I will say the Aramatsu Forester is worth getting, especially as the task will take substantially less time than it takes to get the Tayga 6455B – another truck added in Phase 6: Haul & Hustle.
