SnowRunner best mods: Rock crawler edition

This is my SnowRunner best mods top 5 rock crawler video, in which I highlight some highly satisfying and slow off-road machinery.

The best home 3D printer of 2020

Rock crawling, for those who have been living under a rock, is about driving over a rock. Not when someone is under it though. That would not end well for anyone. I digress. Usually rock crawling is a slow but satisfying experience, where driver skill is especially important.

In SnowRunner it is entirely possible to get a taste of rock crawling using various mods. For this top 5 video, I will be using two maps that are all about conquering massive pebbles, steep hills and tricky mud sections.

All mod truck and mod map links, plus ways to support A Tribe Called Cars, can be found in the video description so go check that out and subscribe and like if new around here. I would really appreciate it.

SnowRunner best mods: Frog’s Custom Crawler

Controversial modder Frog makes some interesting mods and one of his most popular is the Custom Crawler. This lightweight off-road machine comes in two flavours, one of which, the CDT, makes it possible for the axle to collide with objects.

This and the fact it is geared towards rock crawling makes it a more realistic experience. It is also really powerful, certainly one of the fastest over difficult terrain in my top 5 SnowRunner crawler mods list. Just don’t expect many modifications.

2022 Crawler

Unlike some crawler mods, the 2022 Crawler was built from the ground up to crawl up and down terrain. So what it lacks in speed, it makes up for with good off-roading capabilities. As you would expect from something based on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

It is a little more erratic over rocks than some of my other suggestions, but its no-frills approach and design make it worth a look.

Project 20-67

Maybe my favourite crawler mod is the Project 20-67. It certainly looks great and with certain modifications it will cruise up and down rocky outcrops and slopes like a boss. All while letting you watch the suspension do its thing in satisfying fashion.

There is a reasonable amount of customisation, too, such as different tyres, bonnet vent and slower gearing for true rock crawling potential.

[IR] 1991 RedCharger

And next is the Invalid RedNeck (or is that invalid?) RedCharger, which is a more, err, redneck style of off-roader. Heaven knows what you would find in the back of a real-life one. But the lack of charm is somehow appealing in SnowRunner.

I also like that is one of the most satisfying crawlers to drive, with a greater emphasis on skilful driving than, say, Frog’s Custom Crawler. It also has a good amount of customisation on offer.

Devil’s Beast

And my last choice, despite there being a lot of other great crawler mods, is the Devil’s Beast. Based on the TUZ Warthog, it offers more usefulness than some of the other crawlers and its size gives it a different handling style. However, with the low gears it can crawl like a champ.

As well as the usual Warthog stuff, the Devil’s Beast goes extra badass with an 8.3-litre Cummins engine, fancy tyres and suspension, and additional bumpers and lighting for a more rugged look.

And that is the end of my top 5 SnowRunner rock crawler mods list. Hopefully it will give you a helping hand into this satisfying part of off-road driving. Let me know what I should have mentioned in the comments below. Subscribe, like, share! Take care, bye.
