SnowRunner Phase 5 release date confirmed

The SnowRunner Phase 5 DLC, the first from the Year 2 Pass, now has a release date. Here’s that and details of Phase 6, Phase 7 and Phase 8.

Good news, people of SnowRunner. Welcome to A Tribe Called Cars, make yourself comfy. Now today’s news comes from the official Focus Home SnowRunner forum and it’s about Phase 5, or Season 5 as I should be calling it.

Yes, I know some of you were disappointed that the original unconfirmed release date in August 2021 never happened. But now I can confirm that Phase 5 Build & Dispatch will be here on the 9th of September.

So if you are watching before that date, get your Filofax out and maybe take a sick day to explore the two new maps in Rostov Oblast – formerly known as the Don region. You also get two Tatra trucks, the Tatra Force and Tatra Phoenix.

SnowRunner Phase 5: New region & new trucks

To get them, you have to rebuild a Tatra factory. Do that and you can enjoy these Czech Republic eight-wheelers, complete with adaptable axles. I have a comparison video planned and was waiting for the arrival of these trucks to make it more useful.

Also confirmed in Phase 5 is crossplay between the Epic Game Store, Microsoft Store and Steam. That means those on PC will be able to play co-op regardless of the platform SnowRunner was purchased on.

Crossplay between PC and consoles is coming later, but no release date has been confirmed.

Also on the way in the Year 2 Pass, which is a separate purchase to the Year 1 Pass and not included with the SnowRunner Premium Edition, will also feature the game modes I talked about before. Immersive Mode being one of them, which hides away the UI when not in use for a nicer view.

Then there is New Game+, details of which are still unknown. So feel free to comment your hopes for what this game mode will add to SnowRunner. Personally, money is not so difficult to make – even in Hard Mode – so starting again with your rank preserved makes more sense to me.

What else is new in SnowRunner Phase 5?

The forum post also mentioned new skins and stickers to slap on a variety of vehicles plus some other tweaks that I will not go into too much. Spoilers and all that. I will say that new vehicle ramps will make transporting both trucks and trailers a lot easier and more enjoyable.

So now to the elephant in the room. What about the next-generation version of SnowRunner for anyone who has managed to secure a fancy PS5, Xbox Series S or Series X? I really want that limited edition Halo: Infinite one, but not the elite controller. £180! I hope it helps you wash up at that price.

Anyway, there has still been nothing mentioned about the SnowRunner next-generation update. As of late, the developer and publisher have been too quiet. I guess they are being kept suitably busy with all the new stuff coming in the Year 2 Pass.

So, yeah, Phase 5 / Season 5 coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation on the 9th of September. I do not know an exact time, unfortunately. Just remember that you may have to install the DLC manually via the store as well as the Year 2 Pass to get things working.

What about after SnowRunner Phase 5?

Season 5: Build & Dispatch will be proceeded by Season 6: Haul & Hustle, Season 7: Compete & Conquer and Season 8: Expansion 2. Ooooh mysterious.

Season 6: Haul & Hustle takes place in America and is all about logging and heavy forestry. Think lugging logs around like you see on the back of a real life Pacific P16 truck. The update will also add new vehicles.

Season 7: Compete & Conquer, meanwhile, involves a tournament competition map and specific competition trucks. Yes, the word ‘map’ was used and not maps. Anyway, you can expect tricky mud pits, rock crawling courses and other tough challenges.

As for Season 8: Expansion 2, Focus Home says this will be the “most ambitious DLC” so far. It will add a new region, new vehicles, new activities and a “game-changing” new mode. What could it be? Side thought: If a new game mode arrives, does that mean we will have a Year 3 Pass?

Something else I noticed. The Year 2 Pass video only mentions the Tatras, suggesting the Jeep Dual Pack will be a paid extra on the side. Boo. But yay official Jeep trucks – could be fun. I was trying to dig up some info from Jeep itself, stay tuned.

On that note, I shall see you in the next video. Be sure to like, subscribe and maybe even donate via Patreon, my merchandise store or just a direct donation. I have some big plans for the channel so it would be awesome if you can help me fund them. Regardless, big love to you all.

Until next time! I shall leave you with the official Year 2 Pass trailer. Take care, bye.
